Hi
there, read on and you will find out a little about myself, and my journey to find Tribal Belly Dance.
From leaving school
early, I have educated myself in the school of life! From working many varied and various jobs in areas such as horses, children,
Aromatherapy massage, the catering industry, house sitting..........(you get the picture) my interests were always studying
alternative, wierd and wonderful things and I spent a great deal of time around 6 years studying Yoga, Meditation,Spiritual
Healing and Counseling in Glastonbury.
From Glastonbury I was
first introduced to Belly Dance, Raqs sharqi and was instantly drawn to the beauty and femininity of it.
However after a while the restrictiveness off it, I found stifled my movement, and so i went and learned modern dance, Salsa
and liked to my own thing.
A year and a half ago I met Kimberley Smith, the troup director of NeoHips and she introduced me to Tribal Fusion Belly Dance.
Then I knew that this style of Belly Dance was my calling, and have been obbsessed by it every day since.
Since joining NeoHips I have taught, performed and created dance, working very hard to master the art and techniques and now
would like to share it with all who seem interested.
Performing is my greatest love and there are so many different aspects to Tribal Fusion, it can appeal to all.
In NeoHips we often dance to our live drummers. I also love to drum using the doumbek, unfortunately I have not worked
out how to drum and dance at the same time! A losing battle i think!
I have taught lessons in Mildenhall, and Bury St. Edmunds and hopefully aim to set up some workshops in Gloucestershire.
I have currently moved down to Gloucestershire permently and there
has been a lot of interest in Nailsworth for lessons.
If you are interested in organising a workshop, give me a buzz
